I found a WWII historical buff who does nothing but rebuild ships and spout WWII facts... and he'd not ever heard of this. He was a gentleman in his sixties, at the time, and WOULD NOT believe me when he heard the topic of the book... so I gave him a copy and he was GOBSMACKED. I loved it, I thought it was such a wonderful piece of fiction combining past and present so fluidly while telling a little known story about African American women in WWII.
