What Did You Do This Week, Gail? April 9 Edition

I have 15 people coming here for dinner on Easter Sunday, and I was out of town last week. No food here when we got back, no clean laundry, and the plans for the weekend were just coming together. I've been e-mailing relatives, chopping up Halloween candy to put in an Easter cake, making cupcakes, hunting for new vegetable recipes on-line, raking the parts of the yard people will see when they get here, and feeling anxious about not working for two weeks. Except for blogging, I've done nothing for work.

Yes, that's right. That's what I did last week, too.

The blog, though, has done very well the last few days. I've had very good stats. So that's gratifying.

You obviously don't have to answer because this feels a bit like asking someone's wage but for someone new to the blogging game.... what do normal numbers vs good numbers look like? Do you feel like numbers have increased over time or are there more periodic bursts of activity?

I don't actually know what good numbers are, or, say, if there is a number that a publisher or agent would think is good enough to support a "platform." I just watch the statistics Blogger provides for me and sometimes they're higher than others.

Generally speaking, my numbers were much higher years ago when there were fewer blogs. Nowadays I have spikes, like the one I'm experiencing this week.
