Doesn't This Make You Want To Run Out And Find One Of Her Books?

I've never read anything by Enid Blyton, at least, that I'm aware of. However, learning that her work was banned by the BBC for thirty years make her sound very desirable to me. Evidently, her work was disliked by many people. And, yet, one of these articles says she is supposed to have sold over 600 million books. Hmmm.

Are you going to make another book about kyle and his life? The happy kid book talks a lot about teens and how they don't want to get involved with sports or activites The book is talking to kids saying get involved with your communtiy or family That is what i thought the message behind the story wasWhat is the message the book is trying to give readers? That is what i thought the message was!

I hate to think of myself as writing true "message" books, instructing readers on how they can improve their lives. I'm more interested in dealing with themes, which I see as being some kind of question about life that interests the author.

A theme that interests me with many of my books is "How much do individuals have to change to get along with a group?" That's what I see Kyle struggling with--how does he get along with the brainiac kids he's been thrown in with? How does he maintain his old friends? That's what a lot of his frustration is about.

In my more recent books I've also been interested in how my characters try to control their worlds. I may have just been beginning to think about that with Happy Kid! because Kyle had problems with self-control, his response to the things that happened around him was often too emotional. Taekwondo was helping him to get some self-control.

No, I don't expect to write another book about Kyle. I got started writing this book after someone gave me a self-help book for Christmas. While I was reading it, I thought it would be funny if someone tried to do the things a self-help book suggested and everything he did always led to problems for him.
