Coraline Goes Graphic

Parenthetical.net reviews Coraline. I wasn't looking forward to reading the graphic version of Coraline because, like the reviewer at Parenthetical, I wasn't crazy about the original book. This review makes the graphic novel sound more enticing.

Parenthetical.net also reviewed Three Shadows.

I did like the graphic version better. But I went back and read your review of the original, and your point about Coraline being an unrealistic child is a good one, and no different in the graphic novel. Repeated comments about how she doesn't like it when her dad makes "recipes" notwithstanding.

(As a card-carrying adult, I'd like to go on record as saying that her dad's recipe sounds *delicious.* Bring on the tarragon and Gruyere!)
