These Are...Ah...Interesting I Guess Is A Nice Way To Put It

Since I found these covers for Scott Westerfeld's Uglies trilogy at ACHOCKABLOG, I'm assuming they're from the British editions.

So the Brits like this kind of thing?

Today was the first time I've gone to ACHOCKABLOG in months because it's so slow to load. I'm feeling all nostalgic for the days when I used to go there regularly.

NO ! This Brit doesn't like them and wouldn't touch books with such covers on them...

That was my thought, Michelle. They aren't images that make me want to pick up the book and take a look at the flapcopy. The third book, in particular, makes it appear that it's a "problem book" about cutting. Having read it, I know it's not.

I wonder if the library has copies with less disturbing covers ? Having read Westerfeld's "Midnighters" trilogy, I've been intrigued enough to consider reading this series post-Cybils, but not with those covers !

Perhaps you could make covers out of paper bags to use while you're reading them.

Hmmm. It seems as if there's a joke in there somewhere--a cover so bad it needs a paper bag.

Hmm... Of course, if the books are paperbacks with the plastic jacket protectors on them, I could just slip some paper inside the plastic jacket to hide the cover...

I'm working on speeding up the loadtime!
